Taking a slight Detour...

Okay, I needed some inspiration to the "Rainbow Readers" that I will publish in 2015. They will be shorter books, 99 pages or so called the "99 cent Quickie." And I want to reveal the cover art now...

Comments, criticisms and such always welcome... Content is TOP SECRET right now, but I can tell you that the readers who read the "Moments in Time" series and comment on the characters they like will get brilliantly elaborated stories on characters they are interested in reading more about from the "Moments in Time" series... First release of the Rainbow Readers will be "red" on Christmas Eve.

Moments In Time Detours: Sometimes the wrong way can be the right way

The third release continuing the story of "Moments In Time: it is never too late to come out," and "Moments in Time: It is never too late to start over." "Moments In Time Detours: Sometimes the wrong way can be the right way" is a metaphoric resemblance between the ability to bump a guy off his straight and narrow path, and over to the side of rainbows and sparkle ponies combined with the challenge of wandering off the path of life, and making choices to stimulate a more fabulous future.

The world traveler is born, and torrid trysts continue in this third volume of “Moments In Time” that developed into a way of life. This story culminates in climax over and over again, with each chapter representing a unique sexual adventure.

As readers comment on each book, each chapter, and each character, we will create a series of books, based on reader’s comments. They say a picture tells a thousand words. I can guarantee an exciting and addictive series, based on what characters you like.

General warning, this book contains graphically descriptive sexual interactions between two (or more) males. It is intended for mature readers only.

Passionate and Thought Provoking... FIVE Star Review!

5.0 out of 5 stars Passionate and Thought Provoking... November 11, 2014
By Ranger
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Let me state at the outset that I am a straight man (really!) and I loved this book, “Moments in Time” by writer Adam Stevens. It has been the very first gay theme book I've ever read, and I read every page. While I did feel uncomfortable at some of the sex scenes, as I read more of the book, I became more comfortable with them, as I came to see them as a physical manifestation of love, and if anything, the writer's big message is that love is the same, whether it's between man and woman, or between man and man.

A bit about me. When I was younger, I did not really come across too many gay people, growing up in a small town in the middle of nowhere. Those were not exactly politically correct times, and had you asked me then about my opinion of gays in those times, you would probably dismiss me as a bigot and as a homophobe. Now, living in a big city and working in an environment where I interact with gays on a regular basis, I have developed a new understanding and no longer hold the hateful thoughts in my mind as I once did.

I was discussing this with a gay colleague, and telling him how things have changed, how gay friendly the world has become, with same-sex marriage being allowed and all that and he told me, yeah, that's all great, but you don't really how it's like to be gay and even if all the laws are made more equitable and gay friendly, none of us straight guys will understand the pain of being gay.

Which is why I looked for a book which tried to explain that – what it's like to be gay. And this book does that perfectly. Writer Adam Stevens explains the pain of being gay, the constant dread of being caught, humiliation, insults......but that's not all there is to it. He also talks about the joy, the love, the passion, the respect, the pride associated with being gay. Primarily, the book focuses what it's like to come out, giving up the world of stealth, guilt and lies, and waking up to a new life, in which nothing is hidden, everything is for real and there is no confusion. What you see, is what you get.

Amazing book, highly recommended!

I feel real good about book three, real good.

I can't believe it is still Friday. Well for five more minutes anyway. I have been writing non-stop since I got home from work. And people were so annoying me today. I would be formulating the perfect phrase, the perfect paragraph, the perfect thought in my mind, and someone would interrupt me. My how work gets in the way. So annoying. I am almost at 51,000 words and 160 pages of extreme awesomeness in Moments in Time Detours: Sometimes the wrong way can be the right way... And it's so hot and steamy, with such a storyline that has improved greatly since book one. Half way there.
As a writer, my art has improved into a skill. The story will be finished by the 15th, and I am hoping to get an external edit, so that it can be published the day before Thanksgiving. I decided that I will make book two, Moments in Time: It is never too late to start over free for five days the same day I publish book three.
Book four, narrated from Warrens perspective will be released the day before Christmas eve, and I will put book three free for five days then too...
I am already thinking into January, and will produce my '99 cent quickie' series of six 100 page books, one published each month until June. the rainbow reader series will be embellished stories from the Moments in Time series that the readers comment on and want to know more about. I am happy to embellish and expand on my characters interactions with Georgie in more detail.
My current teaching contract will be complete in July, and I can enjoy a wonderful two month paid holiday. That's the plan anyway. For fun, here is the 'RED' Book cover.

Panic and anxiety set in, I had to look!

Okay... Okay. I had to look. I caved in and looked at my KDP select report on how many free downloads I had for Moments in Time: It is never too late to come out.

Last week the first release of this book did 1,300 free downloads the first day. After four days fighting with amazon about why they blocked the book, and how to fix it, I get a new ASIN, and they thankfully re-post my one five star review.

The book now has a new ASIN, and perhaps people are confused, I've only 250 free downloads after two days and scared the original 1,300 wont be able to make the review on amazon, as that original ASIN no longer exists. Let's hope that they visit my good reads author page, and make that compelling positive review!

Although a link on the first page guides readers to my blog page, and the final page links back to the original ASIN, and to book two, I fear reviews will be 'lost in translation' from old book to new book. I guess I can free promo it again in 90 days. Ugh! Get it free now until 11/4!

The final thought of the day... Err... Night.

I love when my mind gets into the zone of 'ultimate creativity.' For example, many writers can relate to the fact that when we are inspired by some wild, colorful idea, we can write about it for hours. That is until something gets in the way. Refreshing the coffee cup, running to the bathroom, even a phone call you are so annoyed with because you are in the zone.
But as I am a new author, and in my first book, promoted my blog on the first page, hoping for lots of interactive comments, I am discovering that I am NOT getting any new blog followers, and only a few are making comments. What the readers are doing, is messaging me on Facebook. I get excited when I hear that deafening 'ping' alerting me I have a new message.
The reader tells me they like such and such character, and I take note of that interaction, as this is the point of the "Moments in Time" trilogy. It is my intention, in all three books to maintain a fictional chronological articulation of key moments in time that Georgie experiences, and while each chapter is a different sexual scenario, the intention is to get the readers involved. Make the readers a part of future books. By that, I do not mean, make them a character, but rather to elaborate on each character that Georgie interacts with, and write an entirely new book of his time with that character, based on the readers likes.
For example tonight, one reader told me about the 'guy in the jacuzzi.' And I instantly knew who she meant. She loved the fact that I never revealed the name of this guy, although we spent several close days in the car together. I intentionally wrote about this stranger, and after a steamy hot sex scene, maintaining the theme of love hard, and lose that character, Georgies grandmother washed the jeans where the strangers info had been written on a piece of paper.
In book 3, the final chapter, the strangers name (has to be THE perfect name) will be revealed by having him recognize Georgie in a public place (it has to be the perfect place), and his approach has to be perfect, and the reuniting a lost love will create a dramatic impact on Warren and Georgies lives (Hehe. Spoiler! You don't know who Warren is until Book two)
The point of tonight's blog is to encourage readers to post comments on Amazon, Good Reads and on Facebook and share with me what character they want to get to know better. It is the entire purpose of the series.
While reviews sell books, and I am so happy with my first FIVE star review. I read that review every night before I go to bed. I want readers to interact with me, and inspire me by discussing key points in each characters experience, tell me their feelings, so that I can create more entertainment opportunities for them to explore.

I will make an unofficial announcement that shortly after Thanksgiving, and the release of the third book in the series, "Moments in Time Detours: Sometimes the wrong way can be the right way, I will begin to promote a monthly series called "The 99 cent Quickie." Which will feature approximately 100 pages of Georgie, and potentially Warren's interactions with the characters that the readers connect with. The first book will be released on January 1st, and will last for six months. In-depth detail will be released soon. Right now, Writing must be interrupted by sleep.
